Who I am
I’m Melanie Considine, a school counselor, college planning specialist, and mom of three who cares deeply about helping students move through the college process with clarity, confidence, and intention.
I earned my Master’s in School Counseling from the University of Denver, and have focused most of my most recent research on career development and postsecondary planning. Earlier in my career, I worked in marketing as an Account Manager and Marketing Director for food and beverage brands — experience that unexpectedly prepared me for one of my favorite parts of this work: helping students understand their own strengths and communicate their stories with authenticity.
Across my time in K–12 schools and in dedicated college counseling, I’ve learned that when students have structure, a supportive guide, and space to explore who they are becoming, the college process transforms from overwhelming to empowering. That belief, and a deep love of working with students and families, inspired me to create Launch.
My Perspective
College planning isn’t just a checklist. It’s a developmental milestone - often the first time a young person is asked to reflect on who they are, what they value, and where they want to go next.
As a first-generation college student, I remember the confusion, stress, and uncertainty of navigating applications, testing, essays, athletics, and campus visits without a roadmap. My family wanted to help, but we didn’t know where to begin. That experience shaped my commitment to creating a process that is clear, grounded, and encouraging, one that replaces panic with purpose and supports families through each step with transparency and care.
Why I Do This Work
I love the moment when a student realizes they have more agency, more options, and more strong-fit paths than they ever imagined. Watching them move from uncertainty to clarity, and from pressure to purpose, is why I built Launch.
I’m passionate about helping students:
uncover strengths and self-knowledge
explore academic and career possibilities
expand their thinking and confidence
build narratives rooted in authenticity
step into this next chapter with excitement and readiness
My approach is grounded in my core philosophy, my Engage, Equip, Empower model which you can learn more about here.
Beyond the Work
I’m energized by the meaningful relationships this process creates. Helping students feel seen, supported, and excited about their future is at the heart of Launch.
If this approach resonates, I’d love to connect and support your family through this transformative chapter.
